In order for an individual to achieve a sense of dignity, self-worth and independence, it is important to acquire the skills necessary to look after his/her own personal hygiene, meal preparation and maintenance of a dwelling. The following examples of Independent Living Skills are to serve as a guide when choosing specific goals for students in developmental programs.
